BWKO generation question.

Postby pingu » Thu Mar 02, 2017 6:45 pm

Hey guys hoping someone can help me out with this.
I'm currently on gen 2 of my BWKO in my 60lt fermenter and about to get another 60lt fermenter going with another BWKO.
My question is do i simply start the new fermentation with new grains using backwash from the run of my 2nd gen BWKO?
And if so does instantly turn my new fermentation into a 3rd generation wash straight or still just a first gen?
Cheers

I dont think it would make it instantly 3rd gen but maybe second gen equivalent...

Thanks mate.
Looks like there are no short cuts in time for making the stuff half decent with a pot still.

No shortcuts with any still, but a good headstart by keeping some backset up your sleeve :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I've done similar in a way. Ive taken some of the yeast cake/grain and put into the second fermenter then topped up with some fresh grain. It seemed to work for me. I didn't use any more yeast either they just kicked off themselves.
