I use one of these
57A809AE-3910-4C38-845E-C25FF62AB26C.jpeg

It’s a manifold transfer pump for caravans etc, it can be run dry so won’t ever fail, touch wood. Pumps at 17L/hr :music-deathmetal:

Are you telling me that it would take almost 2-3hrs to transfer wash into a 50L boiler with one of those?
Or should that by 17L/min?

Whoops :angry-banghead: 17L/min
Only takes a couple of minutes to fill a boiler, a second longer and it’s over full.

Rossgillespe are you mixing with soft drink? Could be sour from soft drink? I have been noticing sourness in my uj guess its sour mashed but ph is about same as water. I notice it in my rum as well that doesnt suffer from lacto like my uj..the final taste finish is very similar to lemon juice, saliva inducing... :wtf:

Not aimed @bluc but a point of clarity (if you please):-
My wife uses “Sour” & “Bitter” interchangeably, and to me, they are two very very separate and distinct tastes! We argue this point all the time...

Sour is what I would call lemon juice, also any acidic fluid...
Bitter is what I would say you taste in beer, or an alkaline liquid!

So as you can see, they are very different! As such, a ‘sour’ taste would come from an infection (as suggested above) while a ‘bitter’ taste would come from sediment/cleaning issue (also mentioned above). My apology for being so anal, but it would clear up misunderstanding and focus the help provided in a far more productive way.

My opinion! Carry on.

I think it's a mix of lemon and quinine.
