+1 on guys advice. Spend some time reading a bit it will all fall into place.
Just a comment on the idea you posted, in addition to a food source for yeast as Sam mentioned it's a fairly low yielding wash at those rates and could well do with a re think.
Also pure sugar washes are a little harsh .."heady" smelling and sharp tasting. Wouldn't be a first choice for many.
Anyway have a read, decide on what you want to make, pick a suitable wash with good proportions.
