Do you mean ferment in your boiler, then just bung the still on top when its finished? If so how are you going to get the yeast cake and other associated muck out of the wash ???

Agreed the burning yeast cake on the bottom will be adding some nasty tastes.

if you got a drain in the lowest point you can dump the yeast cake before running :D

Very true bushy , in my experience TPW sediment stays were it is, to the point were I don't bother racking , or siphoning, I just crack the fermenter tap, any crap that's going to come out comes in the first cup full, Toss that and your right to take the rest out via the tap, you can even lean the fermenter over to get the last from the bottom without getting shit in the wash. ( as long as you carefull)

yep I would go along with the sentiments here TPW is for a neutral and you wont get that with a dirty wash, not that dirty anyway :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I agree with Crow. An 80L keg gives you a huge advantage if stripping or even just building up stock.

How envious I am of those with 80L kegs! Sell it to a member rather than use it as a fermenter! There's bound to be someone near you who'd snap that up.

Can you even get a 80l keg, I though the biggest were the old 18gal jobs, thought they were close to 70L
