My first wash

Set up my first tpw today, not ideal conditions but I hope she pulls through. She's bubbling away with that sweet n sour smell so the yeast is doing its job. 50l ferment, Got it in the garage off the concrete in a large bucket water bath. 100w aquarium heater set on 32c (going to be very cold tonight so thought id bump the temp up a little to prevent stalling) in the bath and all wrapped up in a doona. Not ideal but im praying she ferments out  lol any thoughts or suggestions? I cant keep my wash indoors, and cant find my mini water feature pump to circulate the water in my bath. Also no heater to put in the garage lol will be organizing this stuff next payday though :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Good stuff mate! Is the heater in the wash or the water bucket? I just chuck mine in the fermenter itself, shouldn't need a water bath

Yeah mate I just spray sanitize mine and put the fish tank heater in the ferment, with a water bath you are trying to get heat into the fermenter not a very efficient way to go :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Edit Then again how big is your water bath :-B

Fingers crossed. Pitched the yeast at around 26 - 27c still hammering away. Will know by the morning whether the temp drops too low. The water bath surrounds the fermenter upto the fill level and about 2-4 inches around it. I might just chuck the heater in next time. Its all still a learning curve for me, I was rushing around like a headless chicken to get my wash ready to pitch the yeast to prevent any contamination haha thanks for the tips guys ill get there :handgestures-thumbupleft:
