Total water or total volume?

Hi all

Just wondering how most people interpret recipes.

For example, a 30 litre wash, would you say that was 30 litre water volume or 30 litre total volume?

I always go off total, I'm pretty sure thats what recipes are based on but don't quote me on that.

You'll find most recipes finish with, then top up to 25 Litres etc.
Cheers

I always go off total.

I've marked a line at 50L in my 60L fermenters (and a line at 40L for my rum fermenter :handgestures-thumbupleft: ), and just top up to the line after adding everything.

:text-+1: Me too Zac! Aren't we a couple if smart blokes! I've got lines marked on my fermenters as well, just so I know where to top up to.

Yep total here too.

I top up and always check with hydrometer to make sure she's good to go at the desired SG :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I would of thought every one does it that way by marking the fermenter who could be stuffed counting out liters every wash. :teasing-tease:
