I've been thinking about using a "rocket stove" for a while. it might be a good way of heating the wash, but really doesn't give you any control when driving distillation.

the rocket stove is easy to make, but control of the super heated air is a bit of a problem.

If anyone can come up with a usable control idea, I'd be very interested.

A wood fire would be the absolute last choice for heating a still, It's heat regulation is to variable and you can't just shut off a valve like you can with gas if there is a safety issue like a leak.
