Sugar wash won't start

Postby gemini2544 » Tue Mar 10, 2015 2:08 pm

I started another 8kg sugar wash mixed to 45 liters total volume but it won't ferment. I've checked for air leaks, & added more yeast yesterday but she won't start. it's been 3 days now & the SG hasn't moved from first mixing. I'm using Bakers yeast & have had no problems before. Also It's a balmy 26C so it's not cold.
Any idea's? or should I dump it. :handgestures-thumbdown:

No activity at all, I did bubble slowly on day two but by evening it stopped. The wash is cloudy and there is condensation under the lid, so something is happening but not like previous washes. This is number 7 so I know what to expect.

Sounds like it has started, but very slowly.

How much yeast have you cast so far?

About 80 to 100 grams, I don't know the exact amount as I pitched what was left in the can on day two.
