when you say with a mix, are you talking essence? like are you putting in essence then using the alcometer?

Hi

By a mix i meant juice or soft drink.

And i did get only a slight burn in the back of throat, then smooth and warm glow going down.

But all good i will try another batch in a couple of weeks

If it's smooth and warm, you've made a decent vodka
decent spirits don't burn ;)
