I planing of building a mash tun out of spare keg i have

It will be insulated

I was thinking of turning it upside so it has a 2inch middle drain

Not sure bout heating

Any ideas

I reread that thread and i think thats a great idea ive ordered a pump and ill sus out bunnings for 10m of 3/8 copper tube

I made up a 1 1/2 drain today to go on the bottom of the mash tun

Ill have to make up legs now i was thinkin rollers but defo legs on the bottom and handles up top

That will empty nice and quick mate, maybe put on swivel casters for easy moving. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

i was leaning that way but also thought of putting legs on it so its up high for dumpin into the fermenter

Im 6'3" so a bit of height cant hurt that lifter is awesome

Now there is an idea 1 2many.
What are the capabilities of that little beastie?
I'm still young but i doubt even my back would cope with lifting 60kg worth of mash for transferring into the boiler.

Not sure mate, but when I built it I tested it with my weight, and at the time I was 130Kg :scared-eek:

you can uild a much larger mash tun out of those hdpe 200L barrels that everyone* uses as fermenters

*hopefully im not the only one that uses 200L fermenter, i wouldnt wat to be an alco o:-)
