I highly recommend it Sparrow. We finished up using 60% medium peated and 40% heavy peated as that is all the local guy had. Very happy with how much peat has come through. On oak now for only nearly three weeks. Cannot wait for it to age gently and improve with time. One thing we noticed right off the bat was that there were very little heads and tails. Really pleased with AG and with 100% peated grain.

Ok so from my 50 litre wash that started at 1060 and finished at 1005 I racked of 40 litres (20 litres from each fermenter) could of squeezed another couple of litres but the boiler was looking pretty full.
Anyhow 40 litres and 2.5 litres of feints, mostly tails. Running through the bubbler.
Just taken off fores will see how we go

Collecting at 2.5 litres an hour at 93%
I collect in 250ml cups , first 6 or 7 were heads got maybe 1 to 1.25 litres of hearts. 4 maybe 5 glasses.
Then it jumped a few points and output slowed. Just running tails out now. Will know exactly when I cut tomorrow arvo

Let those cuts air and i think you may claim back a jar or 2 of the late heads.
1.5L of heads sounds like a lot.
How long did you let it reflux for?

Love your pot still, is that a cold springs still bro ? 10 gallon ?
Are the jars fresh from the copper pot or the stainless bubbler

Awesome vertical shotgun stand also, hats off to ya mate.... there is just something about a copper pot still :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Refluxed for 30 minutes. Had more heads than usual, as the fients were probably 1/3 to 1/4 heads.
I’ll only be adding tails fients next run

No it’s not have a mate who is a specialised fabricator, one of the best around make it for me.
This run was through the bubbler. Have a few mods on the pot to do before I start running it

Wholly snappin duck shit that is one awesome looking pot still! Is that a shotgun condenser or a big mofo liebig with a coil or something inside? Either way love the way it comes out the side and sits on that stand. Truly commercial looking in minature! Green with envy here... green as the Grinch!

My brew is on 1.010 guessing its done will give it few more days then check again. I can tell by the colour its clearing. Should give me an abv of 8.77% abv. (sg 1.078-
fg 1.010) :handgestures-thumbupleft: Lets hope the strip is not to foamy  Then I can get some more all grain done.. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Thanks. Yeah she is my baby. 1/2 inch coil inside 4 inch condenser.

I had a couple of inches of foam ontop while bringing up to temp but had no puke. I used a tiny bit of anti foam but I don’t think it does much.
Bluc if it’s still 1.010 in 2 days I would consider it done. Let us know how it turns out :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Kept 1 litre of hearts from last nights run. I cut super hard.
So watered down after aging that’s 2.3 litres of 40% which I’m happy with for $50 of grain and yeast.

40l wash and 2.5l feints and you only kept 2l at 40%? With 7.1% wash? Dont sound right..

Could of kept a cut glass either side of my chosen cuts. The first of the tails I tossed tasted amazing but had the tiniest hint of tails. I don’t get greedy and only keep the sweetest nectar

What was your grain bill markus? Did it contain peated grain?

100% marris otter. Not doing any peated at the moment.
Was looking at changing back to golden promise which I’ve used before with similar results,or just a cheap pilsner malt
