No, sorry. What do you use it for?

And what do you call ‘reasonable’?

Aggressively converts starches to sugars ... sounds scary! Wonder what it’s effect is on flavour?

Could make AGs easier... ? Especially bourbons

Just the same type of enzyme you get from malted barley. Depending on type high or low temp Designed to be used when malted grains are not wanted. Like 100% corn or unmalted rye oats barley etc. If it is high temp its used while mashing. Low temp I believe is used at fermentation level.. :-B

All the posts on eBay show it as being part of a turbo yeast, wether it be whisky or rum.
I'd leave it if I were you.

This is 1 of cheapest iv seen so far. https://www.ebay.com/itm/GLUCOAMYLASE-A ... 1263273945 haven’t bought any yet myself.
I haven’t seen an oz supplier yet :snooty: basically using them does away with need for malted grains, will convert the starch to sugar :-B and not meant to add any flavors

Enzymash.biz, sebstar. Not exactly cheap, but does a good job of converting starches to sugar.
Yarraranges - no relation to turbo, it's an enzyme like found in natural barley, just helps the conversion.

Google DeltaMalt fellas. Large Enzyme outfit Melbourne. Available at $9.95 100ml bottle from ibrew here. Has both A+B , keep yr temps mid 60’s early 70’s and it will liquify bloody asphalt!!! It’s got some grunt. B will kick in once you’ve pitched yeast, and continue to grind away. Done a few brews with it and it works well with.

Is there any taste difference between using enzymes as an additive or with using malt?

I use both. Because that’s what the recipe calls for. I do that because I can’t be arsed doing a hit n miss super low yield wash. I’ve had almost reasonable results on malt alone but I’ve repeated what I’ve done and had shit results. No more for me. Given the time it takes and the cost of good ingredients I’d rather be sure I’m going to get a decent yield. There’s a ton of people who put up with the experiments. I’m not one of them. Using it on Corn is a must I reckon. You’ll work out once you get 10kg on the cook. Could build a house with it.
