Wondering what the difference is between malts? Is it the way it's roasted that makes the difference ie pilsner/ale/ caramalt or is it physically different strains of barley?

Different types of barley will determine the base malt.

Then additional kilning and roasting etc will determine what it ends up as :handgestures-thumbupleft:
