Bayshine bought a grape press, haven't heard if he has used it yet but I reckon it would be the way to go, and is what I am going to do. Look on YouTube lots of ideas for diy apple presses which would do the job, if you don't want to shell out a big chunk of change for a ready made one :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Invest in some large diameter msesh sieves that are stackable.
Unless you want to squeze all the liquid out a press is not for you, they can be quite expensive.

Hey mate...

Are you talking about straining as to get all the solids out? Or are you more talking about straining/squeezing the liquid from them?

I use paint strainer bags 20 liters but find that if you invert and wash out under running water the small particals clog up the bag and stop from draining do in batches.

Have you tested for starch conversion? 20mins seems to short a rest.

Mate it's heaps easier to ferment on the grain(and you will get better conversion ) then strain after its fermented as its not so sludgy :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Do you have any animals that can eat the spent mash they where taking the mash from a craft brewery and feeding to lambs. Its only wasted if getting dumped using a bit more grain may be better then trying to get every little bit out.

could always try sugar head with spent grain also, even if just for vodka would still be a good neutral coming from grain
