Removing Seal From Fermenter Lid

I am going to put a batch of ginger beer on and I want to remove the seal from the lid of my fementer but I am worried I will damage it. Are there any tricks to removing the seal easily?

Maybe use the jet setting on yr hose gun and get under it. Never knew em to be a problem.
