TPW question

Postby newbiboozer » Sat Oct 19, 2013 8:32 pm

I have 2 x 25 liter TPW washes both the same with 6kg ea sugar for a cleaning run. They both bubbled away normally for a week SG dropped to 1000 but checked them with my alc 1 looks below 0% the other right on zero. WTF

as far as i know alcometers are accurate after distilling only. not with washes, or after macerations etc.

Alcometers aren't much good for measuring wash...

Dunno, never tried taking an ABV reading with an alcometer in a wash. Might have to do with viscosity. Some of you might have noticed that a perfectly good pyrex jug that will pour water perfectly , will dribble more of your hard earned 92% on the floor than into the funnel or bottle your trying to put it in.
