What was the overall ABV of your low wines? 5L sounds about right :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Spot on :handgestures-thumbupleft:

50L @ 10% is 5L of pure alcohol in the boiler.

Damn from a Kale wash i just finished 5.65lts down to 20%

Krikey , canget a bit confusing cant it . Ive never used a Kale wash only tpw , does the Kale have a higher sugar input than tpw and hence higher end alch content ? Or should I just be sucking more low wines out ?

There is only so much yoke in an egg, just like there is only so much ethanol in a wash.
You could boil it dry if you wanted but that is defeating the purpose of the strip run and ruin the elements.

Get the alcohols out as fast as you can, some stop at 40% to avoid too many tails some stop at 20% as beyond this it takes too much energy to get the small amount of ethanol out.

Its all related to your washes %ABV and the volume of the wash.

Yeh bout 58 , just checked , so maybe I could squeeze a little more out , but then again like scythe says , is it worth the extra energy to get it , judgement call I spose .
