G'day.
I'm after some wood.
As per subject.
Not a fan of chips but I'll wait and see what's around.
eBay was showing up 1kg of dominoes for around $55.
Is that the going rate?
I haven't bought wood in a very long time...

Also cubes are not a great idea, by design they are 33% end grain.
End grain releases tannins more redily than side grain which is undesirable.
Dominoes are fundamentally better.

A few weeks ago I went to a local winery and asked about old wine barrel staves.
The bloke sold them to me for a couple of bucks each for whole staves.
Bit of a hit on the linishing machine and toast or char for purpose, good to go.
$50 for about 30kg of wood, much better than the local hbs selling 1 kg of French oak chips for $30

Nice pick up. That local hbs tends to put a premium on everything if it is the one I am thinking of... ;-)
