1" bulkhead

Postby bluc » Tue Jun 20, 2017 6:38 pm

Anyone know where to get a 1" bspp nut with an oring groove and a alcohol proof oring to suit. For a boiler bulkhead. Seen some bspt ones but no bspp..

I'm not sure if they have it or not, and they're a bit of a hike from you, but you could try calling prochem on Brisbane northside.

No a bulkhead.Weldless bulkhead to be exact. For passing a pipe through a stainless wall for a drain. Drill a hole insert threaded pipe put a nut with oring either side than attach dip tube/ball valve :handgestures-thumbupleft:

As far as i am aware they don't make bspt bulk head fittings as it it a physical imposibility, the thread needs to be parrallel so they fit through the hole.
Unless they put a bspt thread on either end of a parrallel thread.

Never seen a nut with a tapered thread, would run the risk of binding on the thread before it secured what ever it was trying to.

"Usually" male pipe is tapered and female fittings are parrallel.
Its just easier to manufacture that way.
Of course you can get both parrallel amd tapered fittings and pipe, it just depends on what you as the customer want.

Can you take it into a bearing supplier like statewide bearings and ask them for a silicone seal?

I used them for a specialised oil tank seal on a motorcycle, they were fantastic :handgestures-thumbupleft:
Pretty sure they can organise custom made seals for anything
