Nut on inside AND outside. Just need to tighten the outside one!!! It will tighten against the top one :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I am lost  no way to get two nuts on theres is only bout 5 threads. The hex nut and thread on the element are one piece. Then there is a nut you thread over the length of the element and tighten onto the thread. The only way you can put it into a keg is from outside in. Its designed to be screwed into a welded on 1" bsp socket. Instead of welding the socket on i made up a weldless male bulkhead. The socket screws onto it then the element screws into the socket.

What i dont get is how you cant fit a 1"bspt nut through your keg opening without grinding them.
You can tighten 1"fittings with a standard 12" shifter and they only open up to 36mm.
The opening on my keg is easily >40mm, weldless elements in the 5star store have a hex on them that i guess prevents them from spinning as you do them up from the outside, are they not standard size?

I get that the AF measurement will be smaller than the AP measurement but that AP size is only 42mm...

In the bottom of the throat of the keg there is a lip prevents it from going in. I never gave it a thought before i tried to add the fittings either.

Here you go scythe. Nut laying down the way it has to be.

On edge if it wasnt for bottom lip it would fit but orientation wrong.

Also a 1" street elbow i had to grind a flat spot to get it in keg. Dont have a pic of it but..

Round off the female nut so it will fit through neck of keg & wind it as far as it will go towards the element end. Push grommet against nut. Put the element inside the keg and expose thread through the hole. Tighten another female nut around the exposed outside thread.

Done & done?

Dont think there would be enough thread for 2 nuts and 2 silicone washers :-B

Sorry mate must've been using my drunk eyes last night. Yeah it looks backwards. Might have to find a welder, mate.

Hopefully will hook power up this arvo. Will try it as is see if it works. I bought two elements so if it blows i have a back up, and I will then get a spud welded on.
Trying not to spend much on it as i am hoping for a 100l milk can early next year. (Should have happened this year)

I reckon it's not too dissimilar to this:

Just with liquid in contact with the element and other metal parts. If a metal stove element is okay in contact with a metal saucepan then surely what you've got is fine.

Had the boiler running all morning seems fine.
un insulated it boils 50l water as fast as an insulated t500 boiler boils 25l. Gotta be happy with that.. :happy-partydance:
