In my early distilling days I added a valve at the top fill line with a hose into a small jug,and pumped or filled until it started ta overflow,on the latest boiler I put the a sight glass on the top full level ,both worked well.cheers hillzabilly ;-)

:shifty: what orange hose... :shifty: :laughing-rolling: hoped no one would notice that, it's some suction hose I bought because the normal silicon hose just sucked in on itself. Probably not food grade but it's only to transfer low abv wash.

Good idea as well hilzabilly.

Lol wj was wondering what it would be like for a waste drain. Thought it might have been the black rubber stuff. No idea who would sell the hose I am thinking of. 1" silicone costs a heap..
