Air lock question

I worried about contamination from air lock liquid that gets sucked back into the fermenter,so now use feints instead of water diluted to about 30-40% abv ,so no drama ifn it happens now.cheers hillzabilly ;-)

With all my small airlocks I put a cooldrink bottle top over the top keeps the little suckers out ,and on the big one I use for the 200lt fermenter I drilled one hole in the cap for a snug fit on the silicone hose and about six 0.5mm holes around that ta let co2 out and they are too small for them ta get in,and I like ta think the 30-40% feints kills any nasties.cheers hillzabilly

Ifn its the bog standard small airlock ,a marble sitting on the top cup will keep stuff out as well.cheers hillzabilly ;-)
