Hey guys i normaly do 4 x 25L tpw but was just wondering if its any diffrent doing 200L apart from more ingredients also i got a 44 gallon drum thats food grade has only ever had mango puree in it will that be fine to make a wash in

Tpw is pretty forgiving in my experience. All I've ever done is multiply the ingredients to suit. Tub should be fine if all it's had I'd mango.

200L takes a lot longer to ferment out in my experience.
What's the drum made out of? Most of the steel food grade drums have a plastic bag type liner that actually hold the mango or whatever.

The inside looks the same as the inside of a can of baked beans , how much longer to ferment would you think

Also thinking of putting a garbage bag over the top and tap it around the base

Plastic drums are better unless you get a sanitary welded stainless drum. Non sanitary are hard to clean have nooks etc for nasties to build up in..

Was told the inside is stainless steel and anodised as it has a yellow tinge to it

Stainless does not need to be annodised, its already food safe and won't corrode or impart anything to what it is containing.

Sure the yellow tinge isnt just mango residue?

Could always scratch the inside with something to see if it starts to rust.
Most timed food comes in galvanized containers and the tinge is for the food permeating the coating.

My bad i ment galvanized

200l of wbab takes me about 2 weeks at 30c with an aquarium heater. Its finished in about 8 or 9 days, then i let it settle out for 3 or 4 days before i run it.

If its a galvanized drum and has a coating would suggest its a single use drum and the coating could deteriorate with use and time .

Stat, nice drum buddy but i would just chase up a plastic food grade one. Flea bay has heaps of 220's. They are only around 20 bucks and the fact that the interior coating you have MAY at some stage deteriorate, would just do my head in... you really dont want to lose 200 lit of wash.
