You can use them man they are fine. Just drill a hole in the lid so you can put a silicon hose in then put the other end in a 2 litre bottle of water. Its acts as a big air lock that way.

Or dont use an airlock, I just screw the lid down and have never had an issue.

Thanks guys

I was planning on either using a fish tank heater and a space blanket

Is there any other suggestions as far as keeping temp goes?

I use a 300w aquarium heater. Wrapped in a foil tarp and a blanket. No lid, just a towel that i soak in starsan to cover the top. I have a 32mm bulkhead about a foot up from the bottom with a tap on it, and i have the whole thing in a table so i can drain it straight into 25l cubes.

I use the standard hubs bubblers in these lids and then if I want I can store the ferment for many months before running if need be. As for heating electric blanket works with sisalation foil around that or just the sisilation if its not real cold.

Yeah i use one of those for my fermentation and dont screw down either to let it breath.Ive used aquariam heaters in a bath set up before to keep constant temp..I just use a bucket to empty..it will produce alot of cap if full so I usually do 90ltr runs so it doesnt get messy...

Top quality brand new, 55 bucks with rubber seal lid and steel band.
Best off going there as there is so much more than what is on website.
