Build a new reflux still

Postby Vicki55 » Mon Oct 16, 2017 1:19 pm

Good afternoon

We are looking at building a new still to replace our T500 which was ok in the beginning but baby sitting the valve for the whole run really gets old, especially when the hubby gets me to watch it under the pretense that his back hurts.

We currently have a home made pot still which looks like the bride of Frankenstein so we are looking at a 3" reflux column to run faster than the T-500

Does anyone have any plans for a LM,VM or preferably combo that are dead easy to follow so we could have a go at building it ourselves?

Look at this viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1808
Google for "bokabob plans" and there are lots of plans with dimensions. Most go 2 inch.

A 3" will definitely run faster. Can make a 3" bokabob style still almost as easily as a 2" just as long as you realize it may cost a little more to make.
If you're happy to make neutral this style of still is one of the best and there's plenty of designs out there.
