Why?
They used to sell some at Dan Murphys until a girl drank some straight on her 18th birthday and died.

Just knock up a packed section for your bubbler and make your own, Ive still got some 94% stored for future vodkas or macerations. (Obviously neither of those will be at 94%) 8-}

Vodka is just a neutral, neutral is vodka, same thing different names. Just a straight spirit with little to no flavour :handgestures-thumbupleft: all I do is water it down to 40%

watched a youtube vid the other day where a guy was using a spirit called 'Everclear' on the label it stated it was a grain spirit and was 94%, with a few tweaks he got the engines running and even got running on the vapour....

Like others have said above I use 4 plates and a 500mm packed section of SS scrubbers and get 94% off a run of tpw. Matter of fact got a 5 litre demi filled with it just incase a maceration or 3 is needed or to bump up the cfw if I go below 65%.

Neutral and vodka, I'm not an expert but there's probably heaps out there, are not quite 'same same but different'.
Neutral, by definition, is ethanol and water at whatever concentration you dilute it to.
Vodka is ethanol, water and a mix of whatever goodies come from the spirit run.
Maybe a hint of grain, rice or potatoes (does anyone even do potatoes anymore?) or just crap nasties from the cheap stuff.
If all vodka was just neutral there's be no point for hoity toity vodka connoswillers. :))

We make our vodka/neutral from washes such as TPw and FFV because it's cheap, quick and easy. These washes use raw sugar as a base. Authentic vodkas are made from all sorts of stuff including potatoes, however, the wash is fermented without adding raw sugar. All grain washes are an easy way for the hobbyist to create "authentic" washes that do not require added raw sugar. I've made a few AG washes and the "vodka" does taste better.

This will be my next experiment, in my quest for a good drinking vodka. I am going to try wheat as my base no sugar.

Know them well and yes they are very knowledgeable. I get most of my supplies there. I live in the inner northern suburbs :).
