Will clearing agent affect generations?

Hey dudes I’m gonna run a first generation Mac-rum tamozza. I’ve got one of those 2part ss wash clearing sachets, I was thinking about using it. I’m worried that it will kill all the yeast and good stuff in there for the next generation and it will be like just doing the first gen again. What do you dudes reckon?
It’s got meta bisulphate in it, we used to use that on the trawler to kill tonnes of prawns. It’s powerful stuff.

You sure Bluc?

I to used Meta on trawlers here in WA for many years to control black spot which is bacterial , in prawns .

Yep no need for clearing agents and if it is used I doubt it would affect anything..

Damm it has preservative (sodium metabisulphite). Yeast wont like that would affect the dunder useability... hopefully he took my advice an didnt use it. Sorry for the shit advice on being able to use it :handgestures-thumbdown:

Then again just reading that the preservative is used in wine making to kill wild yeast before pitching the wanted yeast. So sounds like worse case may need to re pitch yeast. The amount in a couple litres dunder may not be an issue at all since the wash is usually racked off the trub before finnings is applied and only a few litres of dunder is used for next gen
anyway.

All good bro. I followed your advice and didn’t use it.
Ran fine, I was worried about molasses stuff burning on the element but I don’t think that happened anyway.
Ta mate.
