Just starting out and need some advise? then post it in here.

Corn Mash and distilling

Hi all,

i have been wanting to try a corn mash for ages to see what all the fuss is about, i suppose my question is making a moonshine i suppose should i be post stilling this twice rather than pot then a reflux?

Have any of you tried it?

Yes any flavoured wash whiskey rum scotch etc pot stull twice. Reflux will strip the flavour..

equipment: 2" pot with 2" shotty 400mm long 5x 1/2" on a t500 boiler.
50l keg boiler 4" still mount 4" sight glass 1" drain..
4 plate 4" bubbler, 600mm packed section

Will that be a strip and spirit run or 2 x spirit runs?

I found this a good read and got me started with a 37lt crab cooking pot from BCF viewtopic.php?f=47&t=1837 and viewtopic.php?f=47&t=1842 from the library section.cheers hillzabilly ;-)
