Basic understanding of plate stills

I can’t remember what sort of output rate I get, I’m currently at Shanghai airport waiting for a flight home so don’t have access to my records but I run 2 x 2400W elements and I generally strip 2 90 litre charges in one day.

I did a couple of strips in the Neutraliser today.
Broken down to 4 plates, no RC or packed section.
2 x 2400 elements running freddys VFV in a 50litre milk can.

It took an hour to warm up then ran at 9litre/hr producing 60%abv.
The abv dropped about 5% with each 1140ml collected.
By the time abv had dropped to 30% the rate dropped to 7.5 litres/hr.
I stopped at 20% by which time I had produced 4.7 litres of alcohol(about 10ltrs @50%ish).
I threw out the first 250ml and the last 500ml(smelly).

I make a wash of around 48litres using 9kg of sugar so I’m pretty happy with this as a result.

Extra points for those at home if you know why I collected in 1140ml lots.

This was my first proper strip run and the large volume worked well
For spirit runs I have glasses that allow me to collect either 500ml or 250ml with extra volume for slip ups.
On big runs I take off heads in 500ml for a couple of litres then move down to 250s.
