Turbo 500 Rum

Postby sicksadsam » Fri Jun 08, 2018 10:03 am

Im pretty keen on my dark spiced rum, however like many ive bought a turbo 500, which isnt exactly conducive to making good flavoursome spirits.
I still wouldnt mind trying however, but what sort or quality of rum could i possibly hope to make using the t500?
Or would i be simply wasting my time?

Whip up a simple 2" pot for the t500 boiler. That would be my suggestion..

Looks good mate. Ive had a bit of a look at building a copper one. even asked a plumber mate about using his soldering skills.
Did some more digging and i think i overwhelmed myself with trying to find copper and any build plans so half abandoned the idea of building one..

Is that a t500 boiler?
did you just clamp the copper to a FSD adapter bit?

Yes you can get a ferrule fitting from five star distilling. If you dont wanna build check out 5 star they have pot stills available :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Yeah still sorta tossing up between buying or building.
Build = copper, possibly cheaper, more personal, alot more work.
Buy = stainless (for the budget), more outright $ but overall easier. ~x(

You can always go with the 4" pot which you can add to and turn into a bubbler. Actually think theres one in 4sale section here...
