Part 2 from Please give me a hand

Now after all the comments , i started to read about flooding the column and i recon this is the problem i have been having

Question is what temp would you run a 50lt boiler at after it has boiled (TPW)
i have a 3500w element that i have been using sometimes wound right up or just a little backed off
i was thinking maybe drop it to 1800 - 2000w and at this stage i will leave the packing as is and see what happens or if anything changes
Then maybe half the packing which is S/s scrubbers if changing Watts doesnt fix it
what do ya recon , any more info wanted ,just ask
CHEERS

3500w would be way too much power for a 2" column I would think, so that would be the most likely cause of the flooding. The 1800-2000 you mentioned would be more like it. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I dropped the heat to 2400w and it worked a treat , it took a bit longer but didn't play up at all

came out of the still at 93 percent and I got about 5 litres , I made that into about 12 bottles . I am quite happy with that .
One more question I have for ya is
I mixed the 93 percent with water , in a container that holds about 6 litres , now some of the bottles have not cleared perfectly like the rest .
maybe half the batch is still a bit foggy in the bottle .
I would have made the mixes in two batches and I believe the second batch is the one that is a bit foggy.
I added water to get the batch roughly 38 - 40 percent and then bottled it , now normally it is a bit foggy for a few minutes and then clears .
This time half has and half hasn't and I cant work out any difference .
any ideas
