What about a fire blanket? I’ve used them to wrap up welded parts so they slowly cool down before.
They will singe if you hit them with an oxy though
Or build a metal shroud and fill full of vermiculite

Getting there.
I pick up a welder tomorrow and will knock up a stand for it then give it a test run using vinegar to find any leaks...

Good job. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

It's hard to tell from the photo so thought I'd ask, what size is your main pipe on the parrot? It will need to be 1" unless you have an unusually small alcometer. They will fit into 3/4" but they tend to give a false reading because there's not enough room for the liquid to pass by and it will push the alcometer up.

Hi and thanks for ya reply.
Yes it is only 3/4 the alc meter fits inside.
For now it will have to do funds r running low and i still have to get the fermentation gear and a water pump...

Bugga. Sorry to say but it won't be very accurate while it's running so just check it before you rely on it especially on a strip run when the output is high.

Good to hear mate. Don't worry I made the same mistake on my first parrot too. I was so happy with it and I polished it up so I could see my face in it all to find out it didn't work properly. So I pulled the bloody thing apart and slapped it together and didn't even clean it up, still looks shit to this day :laughing-rolling: :laughing-rolling:

This is very inspiring, i live next door to a plumber, be asking for some bits n pices, he has a great copper junk pile.
Question is , do the kegs make a better kettle, over my T500 boiler. ? (2000₩)
Also will my T500 without the packing operate as s pot still? Its got a copper coil up the column.

This T500 question gets asked about once a month. read the bottom post from Prof. Green viewtopic.php?f=3&t=11980&start=20
Nothing special about kegs, just that they are relatively cheap, at 50L fit a 30L ferment in nicely with some head space and can support the weight of a 4 inch system if there is not too much off-set weight like a Carter head for Gin, but you can fix this with bracing.
Cheers.

You'll be surprised just how handy that newbies corner is. There is bulk info in there, that's why we suggest every new comer has a good read of it :handgestures-thumbupleft: good luck with the run.
