Hi all. I’m new to home brew. Have got myself a reflux still. Have made my first batch of vodka but am very keen to make it Turkish delight flavoured. Does anyone have a good recipe for it. Thanks :text-thankyoublue:

Soak some turkish delight in the spirit, or play round with ratios of choc and rose water essences..

G'day mate and welcome.

Because this was your first post I moved it to the welcome centre.

Good luck with the Turkish delight :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Hey dans.brew. The bloke that helped me start off my brewing was a champion. Hope to hold a few more brewing sessions and try out many different brews. Thanks again

I’m seriously thinking of that one you spotted on here. Money the factor but those stills don’t come up very often. Got the bug. Now just gotta feed it. :text-lol:

I use to buy Turkish delight essence from my local home brew shop. It was nice, bit to sweet for my taste though.

That’s what I’ve been doing. Would rather make my own if possible that way you can actually say you made it all.

You can make all sort of lolly flavoured vodka by soaking it in neutral.
Musk flavoured vodka would be my favourite.

Just buy a reasonable pack of Turkish delight and soak it in 40% neutral in a jar until it dissolves. Probably not chocolate coated though as I'm not sure the chocolate fats dissolve too well in 40%.
If you want chocky flavoured I think some people add chocolate topping but double check on that.

Thanks mate. Will give that a try :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Welcome to AD PJD

Rather than go down the whole soaking/filtering process using actual Turkish Delight, you could possibly just add some rose water to your neutral then adjust to correct drinking strength as normal.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.

Would mascerating the turkish delight become (maybe) to sweet or thick given the amount of sugar and corn starch used (for home made turkish delight anyway) ive used a combination of both the rose water and rose syrup (like a simple syrup but flavoured with rose) to make turkish delight before with great success.
