McRum

I searched rum on here and found people mentioning McRum
Is that in the tried and proven section? the recipe by MacStill?
I'm doing my research ready for a try when I receive my new Bubbler

Cheers

Yes mate its in tried and proven. Makes a wonderful drop with about 3 months on oak. if you stick to the recipe you can't go wrong. been making it for 4 to 5 years now and its bloody beautiful. Good luck with your first batch. don't get disheartened with how it tastes off the still. rum needs time to mature more so than other spirits IMO

yes, I'm about to do my first McRum (pending still build), definitely read the notes and don't use turbo yeast and carbon like I did. Terrible result.

Awesome thanks for replying
Been smashing out heaps on my T500 but now it’s time to move forward
Ever since trying Kracken and Illegal Tender I’m becoming a convert but still a single malt man
With expensive tastes :)

So much to read and learn on here

This is so true. I've only done one batch of this and thought I had cocked it up completely as it was quite funky and unpleasant. After a good number months on oak it turned out fantastic. I think the hardest part is getting the cuts right .
