Some go to the extent of using distilled water
If you're time rich and money poor it might be worthwhile, I'd want separate packing for it though

I’m with stig, an under sink filter is the way to go, using bottled and goon bag water just cluttered up my storage shelves. I don’t use filtered water for my washes but I do for my beer and the only problem I have with that is the lower flow rate from the water filter does not aerate the wurt very well, but I get around that by using an air stone and pump.

Wow, that's a good buy, I'm on tank water, that be perfect, I currently bucket it over to the shed from the above sink filter.

Initially tried tap water after distilling a TPW, then tried steam distilled water. Now I only use the distilled water for the TPW washes. Made a cornflake whisky and tried a supermarket spring water as well as the distilled water. Will use the supermarket spring water for my next whisky. Used distilled water with a rum, very good but no idea what other water I could sensibly try for an improvement. (Polite suggestions?)

I suspect the main reason that I disliked the tap water could be the chlorine which I can very often taste (Melbourne western suburbs). We use a carbon filter for all our drinking water so the chlorinated tap water is obvious. The carbon filtered tap water was not as good as the distilled water with the TPW.

I guess at the end of the day it's all down to personal taste so try all the options and go for whatever works best for you and yours.

Water is very cheap to purify but expensive to transport and package can it still be purchased filling your own containers seems to be very little information on Google home brew shops would have there own RO systems but can not see any prices .
