Good evening, I recently acquired this still and the previous owner hasn't used this in a very long time, my questions are is this a good still to get started, how well does it need to be cleaned and what should I check before firing the old girl up.

I'm thinking I could run a cleaning agent through there and check for leaks ect ect.

I would definitely do a vinegar run and sac run before you use it.

The wiring has me slightly consurned. It doesn't seem very contained. I would hate to see a short out to the keg that causes it to become live. If you have a sparky mate I would get him to have a quick look at it :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Good luck mate hope it goes well for ya.

Very good point! I never thought about the electrical side of things, I'll get a mate to inspect before plugging in. Are there any steps or procedures for doing a vinegar run? Or am I just over thinking it? ... :?

Yeah she's a bit hard to pull out. Not sure how u did it then first time. It does seem to secure well using 2 wing nuts.
