If your thinking of going into all grain brewing you are going to need to do some research mate, Ian Smileys book "How to Brew" is a great start for malted barley :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Pretty sure it's in the library on the forum.

So I went back through some Still it vids and found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3DC5UvjCaY Great info in down to earth speech. Tomorrow I will check my local produce store for some malted grains, if no I will have to source them through a home brew store possible in Ballarat or Melbourne.

What are you hoping to make?

It looks like your still is a reflux still? If so you will be wasting your time and money using malted grains if your going to strip all the flavor out with a reflux? Unless you just want to make an all grain vodka that is?

I have a 35 L earn with a reflex and pot still attachment but my new Still is a 50l Keg with a 4" column. I want to start making all grain. The local produce place here was a fail, going to start ringing some home brew stores. I dont realy want to do the malting myself.

I was going to try this recipe or something similar.

Water - 6 gal ? 3lbs grain per gallon
Gypsum (calcium sulphate) ? 2 tsp per 5 gallons
Corn Cracked 70%, .7 X 18 = 12.6 lbs.
Rye 20%, .2 X 18 = 3.6 lbs.
Barley Malt 10%, .10 X 18 = 1.8 lbs.
Amylase Enzyme - 3/4 teaspoon (1/2 t per 5 gal. mash)
Yeast Nutrient - 3 teaspoons (1/2 t per gal. mash)
Yeast: Distiller’s Active Dry Yeast - 4 tsp (1/2 t per gal. mash)

A lot of places have bulk prices about 2.40 kg per 25kg sack is best ive seen in qld unless buying 30 sacks then it gets cheaper again. Freight is the killer for me and am currently experimenting with unmalted grain and enzyme..

In reply to both the above business, i visited both during February of this year, the one in Horsham was just a room on side of house that had basic HBS stuff , bare essential actually, the Ballarat one was very focused on beer, vertualy no distilling vibe at all. Don't rember any grains , it also is old corner shop now a home . Was surprised to see only one shop in ballarat.
SA was very distilling oriented, possible due to all the fruit available.
Maybe look towards sa for www store's.
Good luck
