Fermenting (FG) help

Postby Astro1986 » Wed Oct 16, 2019 5:55 pm

Hi everyone

I need some help please. My very first ferment (other than beer), I put 3 lots down to ferment, 1 x turbo (came with my still) and 2 slightly different versions of the TPW recipe. I have everything documented.

They have all been bubbling away nicely and stopped dead on 2 weeks. I have left them a few extra days and today opened them up to test FG. The turbo is still sitting at 1050, one of the TPW is exactly on the 1000 and the other is on about 1010. Although bubbling along constantly and nicely and watching the ferment temps at around 25c, none of them are at 990.

Anything I can do to bring it down further? Or are they stuffed?

Thanks

Thanks mate. Even though they have been fermenting 2 weeks and stopped bubbling through the airlock 3 days ago?

Given the time of year I will leave things 3 or 4 weeks here in QLD
Not knowing your local it could be even longer

:text-+1: on what Stig said. ATM my sugar washes take a good 4 weeks to fully ferment and clear. All grains are taking about 2 weeks.

Awesome, thanks guys. Also I'm located in Perth. Whether here has been warming up and around mid 20s but had some cold nights still. Every night before bed I checked the temps and had them insulated. Temps were also sitting started around 30c then over the 2 weeks dropped to around 22c. I will leave them sit a few more weeks and see how we go.
