It will work but....
That clear stuff tends to collapse when it get hot

The plain clear hose may not handle the pressure and may blow in time.
They do have a semi clear reinforced hose, think it’s in the plumbing section

I use 19 mm vinyl clear tubing from bunnings. Yeah it doesn't like going round corners (it does kink), but if you get the lengths right (and it's easy to cut) and use elbows where needed then it works well. You can see where there are air pockets and it's easy to join to the 19 mm irrigation fittings, which there are heaps of different types including valves and snap connectors.

I've never had it not hold pressure, but I only use a 35 W water feature pump.

Even on stripping runs it doesn't get hot enough to collapse, but I've made sure there's no slack bits in the lines.

By the way, when I say it's easy to join to 19 mm fittings, soak the last half inch of the tubing in hot water for 20 seconds and it goes on easy and makes an excellent seal. No leaks.

Nah go 19 mm, the bigger the less pressure drop and your pump will thank you for it.

19 mm hose, 19 mm connectors, soak the hose end (half inch) in hot water for about 20 seconds and push it onto the fitting. Makes a great seal.

My local produce place has much nicer hose and prices than bunnies and sells by the meter

An irrigation shop might have some options too, ymmv price wise though

I was buying a fuel transfer jiggle hose(thats what I call it anyway :) ) from Supercheap rcently and noticed one of them had an internal spring to prevent kinking.
I’m considering trying it or something like it on my hot hoses as I’ve had one kink on me in the past with messy results.

If you want it just for a visual indication you can just cut a small length into where you think you want it, don’t have to replace the lot :handgestures-thumbupleft:

L was considering upgrading my hose to 19mm but will take your advice and add a clear piece, i like the idea of a blue intake and red out let, just for visual aspect.

Electrical tape wrapped around a couple of times will give you the colours you desire.
No need to colourthe whole line.
