Hi,

I have a few EDPM seals that came with some stainless ferrule unions that I bought.

Are these ok to use in my newly built still?

Thanks
Rumble

Yep but they tend to stick to ferrules and need to be cut to get them apart..

If the join is rarely going to be pulled apart it’s fine.
If your constantly pulling the join apart your better off with silicone

Thanks for that. I'll go with silicone. Is any food safe baking mat ok?

Not really, its got to be the top quality stuff without fillers in it.
You can check for fillers by folding it over and squeezing it.
It goes white if there are fillers in it.

Just get silicone seals from 5star if you can use standard seals.

Hey rumblepants
I have used silicone baking mat before for gaskets under flat face glass sections - worked well and I’m still here...
Triclover gaskets have the raised ridge on both sides - can’t see how you will reproduce that from baking sheet.
If you do a google search for Brewery gaskets in Las Vegas, they have always been great to me, will post small numbers of gaskets at reasonable prices and you can get platinum cured silicone in any size
