Sugar vs Dextrose

There has been a fair bit of discussion about the use of dextrose instead of sugar.
Dextrose being more expensive than sugar, supposedly gives a 'cleaner' neutral spirit.

It seems that everyone wants to make a top quality spirit for the least amount of money.
The less you spend, the more you get.

I thought the idea was to make a top quality spirit!!!

Sure, sugar is OK for a sugar wash....BUT supposedly better/cleaner with dextrose.

Has anyone here done a comparison test?

Would sugar or dextrose be better for a sugarhead/corn bourbon?

Yes , I did it years ago . No difference other than the dex fermented harder sooner.
Using the T500 there was zero quality difference
