Spirit Run Question

Postby Moonshyner » Wed Aug 31, 2022 7:47 pm

I've done 3 sugar wash stripping runs and have enough to do a spirit run for a neutral.
My question is:- Do I dilute the resultant spirit to 40% ABV to do a spirit run OR dilute it to 30%?
I read somewhere that at 30% it will produce a cleaner spirit.
Appreciate any input.

Cheers,

Its personal choice i go to 20% for neutral. But my lw also starts at 90% .
This hobby is like cooking food. You go by your own taste and thankfully you only have to please yourself(and most likely mates).

Get the process of tight cuts down. Then play with recipe ingredients ratio. Unfortunately it takes a long time and patience to get to where you want to be but is very rewarding. Take notes or have a good memory. Good luck :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Just a fyi i hear lots people say add bit heads bit tails and age longer. I reakon all it adds is a hangover. Tight cuts and oak in glass will win out any day over crap cuts in a barrel...
