Slight green tinge to low wines

Hi,

My still has sat for around 3 months unused. Got some free time to run a sugarhead whiskey wash. I stripped 20L and the distillate came out cloudy with a slight green tinge. I didn't think anything of it as I ran it super hard and deep into the tails (less than 10%) so I figured this was just tails filth clouding it.

I've added it back into the still with 24L of wash and was about to run it over 1 plate. I noticed that plate has some green corrosion on it. To be clear this plate hasn't been in my still for a long time. I was gonna soak it in citric acid solution to clean it and then use it in the run.

Now my question is this. Is my 1.5 low wine wash ok to run given I added the murky stripped distillate to it?

Thanks
Rumble

Just took a look inside the column, elbow and condenser. I couldn't see any green corrosion like on the bubble plate.

Last run was a all grain heavily peated barley wash.

Distillation is listed as one of the best ways to remove copper from water.

While alc vapour is great at bringing copper oxide through to our jars from inside the column, the copper wont vapourize* from a boiler charge - it would have to get to 2300+ degrees to do that.

*Some may catch a ride, but so little it doesn't matter

Thanks Al. Always appreciate your input.

I ended up running it over a single plate and its come out clear as and tasting not too bad. Not a touch on the all grain wash though.

Tonight I'm running my first rum. Then its back to kale vodka. Tis the season!

Cheers
