I have given a few bottles of spirits away to mates that have helped me out and they all say it's smooth as fk. But ask what % as they say the can feel it after 1 drink.
I can read an alcometer and know to temp correct it but even if it wasn't temp corrected it would be lower than 40% if it read 40% since it's over 20°c.
And it's always around 40% corrected give or take 1%.

Does home made spirits affect you more or because it's so much smoother you subconsciously put more in?

I have probably built up a tolerance so don't notice it but literally everyone that has had some says the same thing.

Anyone else have this issue?

I dont know that it hits you harder, i think they are just caught off guard due to the lack of burn they would associate with commercial stuff.

If they are free pouring, the drinks will inevitably get bigger until they are on their arse. Good thing they wont get a hangover due to the heads removal :handgestures-thumbupleft:

They all said they felt half drunk after one drink....

I know my second and third glasses have a little more in them :D but surely the first pour is pretty standard

I find the opposite store bought seems more intoxicating. Either way most likely placebo...
