Mould in TPW

Hi Team,

I put a TPW wash down 2 weeks ago. Put everything in with the exception of the yeast, which I discovered was not enough for the 2 washes. So 48 hours went by before I pitched it. When I went to pitch the yeast, there were some hairy mould growths on the surface of the wash.

I went ahead and scraped them off and then pitched the yeast. Skip forward 2 weeks and it has been sitting at 995 for the last couple of days, with a few small mould growths again on the surface.

Will this be an issue running through the T500 reflux?

Any change to the taste?

I would assume any bacteria will be well and truly dead once it runs through the column at 55*

Cheers Team

It’ll be fine .
It’s not running at 55 , your boiling it so it’s at least 78 deg C
Some of the best drinks have been made from infected wash’s
Enjoy

Aphoto would help but most likely a lacto infection..
