What does DAP do?

Postby Peteren1 » Wed Mar 20, 2024 2:48 pm

A sugar/grain wash recipe I'm looking to do calls for DAP as an ingredient.
What does DAP do, is it required and is there an alternate ingredient?
Cheers

Diammonium phosphate adds needed nutes to yeast. Helps the little beggars get moving.

Looking to do the recent vodka from Still It.
Oats, wheat, sugar, raisins plus DAP and Angel yellow.
Cheers

You shouldn’t need DAP with Angel Yellow , it has enzymes and the yeast will get plenty of food from the oats and wheat.
I wouldn’t trust everything stillit says

All good, I think I have managed to mix up Still It's recipe with the FFFV one!
Need to write the two down and not rely on memory!
Cheers
