2" VM

Postby Linny » Mon Nov 05, 2012 7:45 pm

I was going to post this in Reflux, but since im a beginner and i havent started building it yet , i thought it could go in here .... After getting my head around my 5L CM , i want to go bigger, i happy to stick with neutrals , and flavour accordingly. The reason i want to go bigger is that im already over trying to get through 25L washes then double distilling it ,,,, pretty time consuming, though i am getting the hang of it.

My question is... when you have a 2" (50mm) column, what do you suggest i use as a T-Piece . 2" all through ? or should i reduce it ? if i reduce it .. what size . im not too worried since i have a friend of a friend in the plumbing industry who can get copper cheap. . . well cheaper than i can get it (probably going to be the same price as SS) but being copper i can Solder it.

How far does the valve has to be from the column/Tpiece ?

for the leiburg condenser, im going to have a 1/2" center with 3/4" jacket... is 1/2" fine for the valve ? or should the valve be bigger with the reduction afterwards ???

If your concerned about time you might want to look at 3 inch?

If not I would just use a 2 inch tee esp if you can get it at mates rates :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Have the valve straight after the T.

Leibig should be good with those sizes :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I would personally go bigger, but couldn't tell you the difference takeoff rate of half versus one inch...

I always like to go bigger :laughing-rolling:

After the tee you can reduce down to1" for the valve then reduce to 1/2" after the valve :handgestures-thumbupleft:
