U-Type Keg Valve - Removal

Postby rustee » Tue Dec 04, 2012 6:30 pm

Does anyone have any tips on removing a U-Type keg valve? The kegs i have are 30L Whitbread Squat style kegs. Purchased from a brew store. I want to use them for low wines storage but have no idea how to get the valve out. Hopefully i dont need to buy a special tool. Any advice would be appreciated.

i have tried searching on google and youtube etc but all of the info ive found so far is for removing different types of spears other than the U type. Im sure that someone on here has come across one of these before.

Before you start bashing it make sure you release the pressure. Also keep going back and checking the pressure as it can build again to some degree
