Brass fittings?

Hi guys,

Went out today and bought all the tube, elbows, reducers etc to build my rig. I want to be able to remove the liebig to use on both my pot still head and my column so I bought some threaded fittings but they're brass not copper. I have read that you can "pickle" the brass in a vinegar/peroxide mix to remove the surface lead, but would you bother, or just bin them and use stainless instead? Or use something else?

I use brass fittings occasionally but keep them to a minimum, and de lead them (pickle) every 3 months as a general rule.

5Star can probably braze you up a SS to copper union that you could just solder in, that's if your not equipped or confident in brazing SS to copper.

Cheers.

Thanks McStill. I'll pick up some SS fittings today and give it a go. If it all goes pear-shaped, one frantic PM coming your way 5Star
