Stout sour mash.

Postby Jesiah » Thu May 09, 2013 9:37 pm

So I just bottled an extra strong coffee stout I had been brewing for a few weeks in to my 20l beer keg.. Bit tipsy due to tasting a few glasses whilst I did it.

Anywho I had 2 kilos of sprouted corn that I was going to turn in to a sour mash and I was looking at all the left overs in my stout barrel and.. Lets just say I now have a ujsm brewing with stout yeast.

Added in some raw sugar and agave syrup and organic molasses also.

I wonder what it will taste like, should be very full of flavour I assume?

To be honest whatever it tastes like after it's finished I will probably end up adding it to the stout..

The brew went alright, it's been settling for a couple months now as I have been too lazy to wire in my new boiler element.

It is very dark but still smells / tastes like a normal mash.

Will let you know how the end result is next week.
